The United States Supreme Court ruled in South Dakota v. Wayfair on June 21, 2018 that states can require sellers to collect and remit sales tax on sales delivered to locations within their state regardless of physical presence.
What does it mean? Well, it just means that like all major retailers, Sportique is now required to charge applicable state and local sales tax on orders shipped, not only in California, but also in states in which the company doesn't have a physical presence. (**Sorry, we do not make the rules...**)
