The clamp light was originally designed by Curt Fisher for the Midgard company. In order to improve the illumination on industrial work sites, Midgard produced a series of fully adjustable lights, like this functional-yet-elegant table lamp. The fixture features of a typical aluminum shade and an adjustable arm. The arm consists of three joints: the base, the arms, and the shade, making it a highly flexible multipurpose lamp. The design is intended to easily attach to the rim of a table or other flat surface.
Midgard modular lights were once affixed to tools in facilities, including the metal workshop at the Bauhaus. Used by surgeons, architects and engineers for decades, the utility of this system lends itself as a helpful home addition.
