BAABUK
In 2013 the founders of BAABUK, Galina and Dan, were visiting Galina's parents in Russia when Dan was given a pair of "Valenkis," traditional felted Russian boots built to withstand the Siberian winter. Impressed by their lightweight yet luxurious warmth, Galina and Dan founded a workshop from scratch in the famed country of wool, mountainous Nepal, producing handmade slippers and shoes. Ethically produced using three main elements— wool, water, and soap— BAABUK now brings their twist on this Russian classic to markets all over the world. Fusing tradition and modernity, BAABUK footwear is the ultimate comfy, sustainable, extra-warm option for the winter.
